Various Artists - Incorporated! Cti Records And The G

Fakta Creed Taylor was one of jazz’s great producers, and Incorporated! revisits the first five years of CTI with style, depth and real range. This collection looks past the label’s reputation for polish and commercial crossover to show its soulful, inventive core. Across these ten cuts, CTI moves from small group sessions to jazz-funk and full orchestral arrangements by Don Sebesky, Bob James and Eumir Deodato. There’s essential work from Freddie Hubbard, Stanley Turrentine, Randy Weston, Joe Farrell, Milt Jackson, Hubert Laws and more. Compiled by Dean Rudland, with extensive notes, this double vinyl and CD release is a strong reminder of Creed Taylor’s legacy and why CTI still matters.
