The Radio Dept. - Pet Grief (20Th Anniversary Vinyl Edition)

Fakta “Pet Grief" is the second album by The Radio Dept. and will be reissued on vinyl in 2026 to mark its 20th anniversary. Following the success of “Lesser Matters," the band deliberately took a new direction, combining dream pop, indie pop and electronic sounds with influences from Prefab Sprout, The Blue Nile and Pet Shop Boys. The result is twelve understated, melancholic songs characterized by shimmering guitars, gentle synthesizers, programmed beats, and subtle piano and string arrangements. Thematically, the album revolves around loss, memory and quiet sadness, seen as constant companions throughout life. Today, “Pet Grief" is regarded as one of the most elegant and atmospherically rich albums in The Radio Dept.’s catalogue.
