John Williams - Disclosure Day (Color 2LP)

For the music for DISCLOSURE DAY, Steven Spielberg turned to his friend and long-time companion John Williams. Williams, who can look back on 54 Oscar nominations and five awards (for *Anatevka*, * Jaws*, *Star Wars*, *E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial* and *Schindler's List*), also composed the music for Spielberg's *Unearthly Encounter of the Third Kind* - a film that is best remembered for its iconic five-note sequence motif for communicating with the aliens. The soundtrack to DISCLOSURE DAY marks the pair's 30th collaboration in film.

"It's hard to believe that this is our 30th movie together," says Spielberg. "John has just turned 94, and he's as extraordinary today as he was at 40. The depth and breadth of his career are simply remarkable. DISCLOSURE DAY is probably the most restrained score he's ever written for one of our projects together - at least to the point where it's not. But until those moments, he holds back in a subtle, beautiful way that enriches the experience. It's as if he's accompanying the movie from a position slightly in the background, pushing it forward. Scoring is usually the last step, and I always say it's the reward for finishing a movie - the reward of hearing a new composition by John Williams."
